The Little Princess is the fifteenth chapter of the Oushitsu Kyoushi Heinemanga.

Plot[]

In the palace garden, Adele is being painted for a portrait. Adele asked if she can have the portrait when it's done. But one of the maid replied that the portrait will be send to the prince who will marry her someday. Adele is confused and the maid further explained that Adele will leave Glanzreich to be a queen in another kingdom. This revelation really shocks Adele.

The next day, the princes are convincing Adele to come out of her room in front of her door. Heine approached them and asked what's going on. Bruno said that Adele are not in the mood since yesterday and today she refused to come out of her room, and none of them knows why. Leonhard then scared that he will never see Adele's adorable face again, as he said that Adele suddenly opened the door. Still sad, Adele said that if she comes out she will have to pose for her portrait and after that she will be sent to foreign land. Leonhard is surprised, but the other princes are calm because they know it's the norm for a princess. But Bruno convinced her that it won't happen until she grows up and tells her she need to eat her breakfast while grabbing her hand. Adele then runs away and suddenly grabs Heine's hand, declaring that she will marry Heine instead.

Everyone is confused, including Heine. Adele's reason is that because since Heine is staying in Glanzreich, if Adele is his bride then she will never have to leave. Bruno reminds her that she is only 3 years old and Heine is an adult. But shockingly, Heine says that she accept Adele's proposal and that he will "marry" her. Everyone is shocked except Licht, who is a fan of forbidden love trope. Leonhard is furious at Heine and states that he will protect his sister at all cost, he also tries to attack Heine but Heine dodges him. Heine then bids his "brothers-in-law" goodbye and jumped off from the third floor's window, again. Bruno is mad but he states that if Adele wants to marry Heine, he need to surpass Bruno first as Heine's apprentice. He went to the courtyard too with Leonhard, leaving Kai and Licht behind. Licht asks Kai if he wants to go to, Kai nods.

Heine and Adele are hiding in the bush while Bruno and Leonhard are looking for them. Adele comments that there are a lot of hiding spot since both of them are small. Heine then brings her to another hiding spot, further from her brother's sight. Heine then walks Adele through a flower tunnel. Adele thank Heine for "marrying" her, but Heine replies that they are not yet married and that they are only betrothed, and explains that betrothal is a promise to marry. Heine asked Adele to show her left hand, and he put a flower ring on her finger. and he says that the ring is a symbol of his promise. Adele admired the ring and relieved that she doesn't have to go to foreign land, she also tells how new places are scary and question why are everyone wanted her to leave. Heine explains that marriage is the duty of a princess and it is a bridge between nations. Heine understands that Adele is too young to understand all of this. Heine promised he will always be there to protect her and he shall be her knight.

Heine then noticed that someone is hiding in the bush, turns out it's Licht and Kai who have been watching the whole thing. Heine admired them for being able to find Adele but they are merely following Shadow who is following Adele's scent. Licht tells them to hide because Bruno and Leonhard are nearby but Shadow barks loudly that it caught their attention. Bruno and Leonhard found Adele, Leonhard tells Heine to stay away from Adele and tells her that Heine is a devil whose expression never changes. Adele is still scared about being sent away and Bruno once again says that it won't happen until she grows up but Heine scolds him that it isn't the answer Adele wanted to hear. Bruno then gives another answer that no matter who will be her husband, until he is certain that he is trustworthy, he will be opposed to all kinds of marriage arrangement. Everyone agrees with that and Kai adds she should be with who she wants to be with. Leonhard then mentions on the day she was born, everyone one was overjoyed and celebrated together. His father and mother are happy to meet their first daughter. Leonhard then ensures her no matter how far they are apart, they will always be there to protect her. Adele then cries and hugs Leonhard. Heine then breaks off his "engagement" with Adele, seeing how protective his brothers are. He also tells Adele that she got 4 true knights in her side, which are her brothers. Adele understands that now.

Adele now accepted to be painted for her portrait. Her brothers notices how she now feels way better. Leonhard still mad that Heine wants to marry Adele, Licht scolds him on what why he still haven't realized that it was all Heine's act. Bruno also praised Heine's daring approach so that everyone can talk to Adele with their genuine feeling. But Heine said he merely brings her outside, and it's them who set her heart at ease. He believes one day Adele will understands her position and she may be happy with the prince she will wed to, or she will find her own true love instead.

Outside, the maid apologized startling her before and that she should've taken more time to explain such a heavy topic. Adele is fine with it now and she tells the maid that she found someone to give the portraits to: her brothers and her secret knight, Heine.
