Father and Son is the eighteenth chapter of the Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine manga.

Plot[]

Viktor asks the Cafe Owner to give him a temporary job at the cafe, so that he can see why his son thinks the work there is rewarding. The Cafe Owner agrees to let him work for the next 5 hours, before the cafe close. Licht begs the cafe owner not to accept him but the cafe owned can't resists Viktor's sincere gaze. Licht is shocked at the fact that a king is working at a cafe. But then realize that since Licht needs few months to perfect his skill, he's sure that his father will do his job poorly and that the cafe owner will kick him.

Viktor wear the waiter's uniform and everyone especially the waitresses is stunned by his handsomeness. Viktor then approached Heine, who is snuggling with his drink. Heine is embarrassed and regrets showing Viktor the cafe, asking if he originally wanted to retrieve Licht and bring him back. Viktor replies that he can bring Licht home without understanding his feeling. Heine then went to prepare the draft for tomorrow's lesson. A waitress then come and asks Heine if he's Richard's little brother, to Heine's annoyance.

The cafe owner told Licht to show his father how to do his work. Licht is still feeling awkward because they were just fighting and now he have to guide his father. Viktor then approached a woman, then suddenly kneels down while asking her order, shocking the woman. Licht is as surprised and Viktor told him he was following what his attendants always did to him, Licht advises him that kneeling down is little bit too much. After that, a foreigner who speaks foreign language comes to the cafe and no one could understand him. Viktor then speaks with the man in the foreign language and turns out the man is looking for the train station. Everyone is impressed by his skill. Viktor then show off more of his communication skills with the customers while interacting with then, he understand people very well and well-versed in diverse topic. He instantly become the most liked waiter in just one shift and the cafe is crowded thanks to him. Licht admitted defeat and that he can't beat his father's talent. Though he's still mad that Viktor abandoned him in his sickroom, he does want to have his talent.

The cafe owner convinced Viktor to stay as a waiter but Viktor refuses. Licht went to take the signboard and Viktor joins him. Outside, Viktor apologizes to Licht for the pain he caused in the past. He retracts his previous remarks back in the palace. What he wants to say is that if Licht is injured or anything bad happened to him, it will damage his chance on becoming king and he just wanted Licht to be aware of that possibility. The reputation of the royal family and Viktor's honour as a king is not his concern at all. After working on the cafe himself, Viktor beginning to see how Licht feel and that he believes the cafe staff are good person. He won't force Licht to quit his job and his future in the cafe is his to decide. Licht apologizes as well for not understanding the weight of his responsibilities. Licht is about to quit the job, but Heine suggests that Heine could accompany him in his shifts so that he would be protected. Everyone is happy with this arrangement.

Just then, the guards arrives to escort the king back to the palace. Licht has a renewed desire to become king so that he can be like his father. Licht also declares that from now one, he will take his lessons seriously. Heine teases Licht that behind his playboy facade, he's actually just an ordinary child. Meanwhile, Count Rosenberg observes them from above, not too worried that his plan didn't work and wondering which prince should he bring to ruin next.
