We Are Rivals! is the thirty-eighth chapter of the Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine manga.

Summary Edit

The princes return from their visit to Eins's palace, dejected after he challenges all of them to surpass him. Bruno is the first to declare that he will take up Eins's challenge, and the brothers are reminded yet again that they are all rivals. Heine then outlines in what areas all of them need to improve on, except for Leonhard, who needs to improve in everything. Leonhard, angry, tells Heine that he'll master all the fundamentals without his help and storms off. While taking a break from studying, Leonhard was about to talk with his brorthers at dinner when he realized that they are his rivals and far ahead of him in everything, so he decided to devote all of his time to studying, eating dinner in his room, not sleeping, and even giving up his beloved torte. His brothers and Heine all noticed his suspicious behavior, so they decide to visit Leonhard's room, where he has gone half-mad from studying so much without sleep. Feeding him a piece of torte manages to calm him down and send him to sleep. When he wakes up, he sees his brothers and Heine in his room. Heine tells him that studying at the expense of his health is no good, and his brothers tell him that even though they are rivals, they are all working towards the same goal, so therefore he shouldn't hesitate to ask them for help. Heine tells him to trust in himself, and Leonhard decides that he didn't need to study at such a fast pace. He then goes off to dinner. When he's alone in his room, Heine looks at a picture while thinking that he still hadn't determined whether or not Eins and the Count is behind the princes' troubles.
