A Stormy Shelter is the fortieth chapter in the Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine manga.

Summary[]

At the cafe, Licht freely converses with his customers, completely at home. He mentions to Heine that he is learning a lot about city life and commoners just by working, which he believes is the one advantage he has over his brothers: his experience with people.

At closing time, just as Licht and Heine are about to leave, a huge rainstorm appears. The carriage appears, with the pretense of being hired by "Rich's" and Heine's parents, but since the rain is too heavy and affecting visibility, they could not go home right away. The owner offers to let them stay for the night with him. Heine tells the carriage driver to tell the palace that they are going to stay here for the night and to come back for them in the morning.

The owner leads them up to the second floor of the cafe, which is where he lives. Licht is somewhat excited about staying outside the palace and away from his family for the first time, but is shocked by how small the owner's living quarters are.
